In January 2025, Isaac Howlett's second solo single, the Walter Kazmier produced Endless Night, found its way into the German Electronic Web Chart (GEWC), where it entered at #4. Isaac also announced the release of an EP, repackagaing/re-releasing the two original 2024 singles, House Of Cards and Endless Night, with remixes by Emmon, The Foreign Resort, DSTR (Daniel Myer) and Aiteall, a new side project of Grendel's JD Tucker. The EP released digitally via Distrokid on 7th February, with a preorder for a limited edition Digipak CD and a 7" picture disc beginning on Bandcamp 24th January.
Isaac was interviewed by Synthpop Fanatic, who made him their January cover star. In the interview, he was asked what had happened to the Monsters follow-up Empathy Test had begun work on. "It is now called A Year Without Light," he responded, "and will be released by Isaac Howlett as a solo album, in the latter half of 2025." Isaac also announced a series of support shows for Devision Redux, a new incarnation of the German synthpop band DE/VISION, and that he would be performing live as a duo, with Sam Winter-Quick on keyboards.
Isaac Howlett supported Devision Redux in Berlin, Frankfurt and Oberhausen on the 18th, 19th and 20th of April respectively. In an effort to pull together enough solo material to fill a 30-40 minute set, Isaac sent demos to Mikkel from The Foreign Resort, Daniel Myer, and Trey Fyre of US synthpop band Korine. These collaborations resulted in four new original tracks being added to the live set: A Year Without Light, Something Changed, Ghosts of the Tsunami and Eggshell. The new tracks were performed alongside The Foreign Resort remix of Endless Night, an extended version of House of Cards, Save Myself (Isaac's collaboration with Aesthetic Perfection) and Isaac's remix of Clan of Xymox's The Blood of Christ.
In Oberhausen, Nadine Kloppert wrote for German site MonkeyPress, that "after around 40 intense minutes, the varied set ended - and what was left behind was not only applause, but also a palpable anticipation of following Isaac's further path". The stand out new tracks for her were Ghosts of the Tsunami - "you could literally feel the enormous potential in this new work" - and Eggshell - "with this piece, he revealed a new, exciting facet of his work and gave an idea of the musical developments that lay ahead".
